- Ring diameter: 50 mm
A bradoon bit is usually used in combination with a Weymouth bit on a double bridle. This bit can also be used as a loose ring snaffle when smaller bit rings are desired. This loose ring snaffle/bradoon bit has an anatomical design and follows the shape of the horse's mouth, creating a soft and even pressure distribution. The BR bradoon bit Soft Contact is made of solid Cuprigan with stainless steel rings.
A loose ring bradoon is a bit with loose rings. This type of bit is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece lies relatively loosely in the mouth. The small rings leave more room for the Weymouth bit. It is advisable to choose a bradoon bit approximately 0.5 – 1 cm larger than the Weymouth bit.
A single jointed bit has only one hinge point in the middle, on the tongue. This results in less pressure on the tongue compared to a double jointed bit. This type of bit puts more pressure on the bars and lips and is therefore perceived as softer.
Material composition: Cuprigan is an alloy consisting of 89% copper, 7% aluminium, 3% iron and 1% zinc. The oxidation process of the material gives a pleasant smell and taste.
Attachment of Weymouth bit and snaffle: The upper part has rings for attaching the cheekpieces and hooks for fastening the curb chain. The lower part has rings for attaching the curb reins. It works with great force on the lower jaw and neck.
