Bit and bridle testing

Bit testing and bridle testing; So many people, so many preferences, and that also applies to horses and their riders! If, for whatever reason, a bit-fitting consultation or a bridle-fitting appointment is not an option? Then you can still try out various bits and/or bitless bridles first!

Which bits are eligible for bit testing?

All bits with the tag "test bit" are eligible. You can also search for "test bit" in the product category "bits". In principle, all Fager bits, with the exception of Fager's budget line (stainless steel), are available as test bits. Winderen bits are also available as test bits.

Which (bitless) bridles are eligible for bit testing?

All bridles with the tag "test bridle" are eligible. You can also search for "test bridle" in the product category "bridles". We have test bridles available for all types of bitless bridles; including sidepull, crossed-chin, crossed-jaw, and hackamore. This way, you can experience what is most comfortable for you and your horse before purchasing a bridle. The bridles for testing are only from the F.R.A. brand and are sent including reins.

Bit testing and bridle testing; how do you order a test bridle or a test bit?

Go to the item of your choice and order it. In the comments field, you can indicate that it is a test bit or test bridle. We will then try to send it immediately, unless the product is already being tested by someone else. In that case, you will receive it within a week at the latest, but we will inform you of this. If you do not want to pay immediately, you can choose In3 by Ideal or Klarna at checkout, and pay in installments.

How long can you test the bridle or bit?

You can test the item for one week. On the 7th day, we would like to hear one of the following options:

• You keep the test item and receive a 10% discount from us; this amount will be refunded to you. For Winderen items, the discount is 5%.
• You want to order a new one; then you return this one (at your own expense and risk) and upon receipt, we will send you a new item that has not yet been used as a test bit or test bridle.
• You return it (at your own expense and risk). You will then receive your money back minus €14.95 for the testing.

If an item is returned, it must be clean and intact, without damage. If this is not the case, these costs will be charged.

As a certified bit fitter and bridle fitter, we can always provide you with advice. So ask your question and we are happy to help you. It is true that remote advice can never be as good as a bit fitting consultation! But we also understand that this is not always possible, and that is why we are happy to offer the option of bit testing and bridle testing so that you can at least choose a well-fitting bit and/or bridle for your horse.
