- Struggles to maintain consistent contact.
- Needs clearer brakes and more flexibility.
- Needs to become calmer in the mouth without becoming stiff at the sides.
- Available in sizes: 105 mm / 115 mm / 125 mm / 135 mm / 145 mm
John is a sweet-tasting, double-jointed bit with shank relief. The design is simple, unique, and created with the horse in mind. Combined with the sweet-tasting material, the horse will seek more contact with the hand and overreact less when you take up the reins, which helps maintain more consistent contact. The side pieces give you more control with the gag effect and a softer, more flexible feel in the hand.
The hinges are specially designed to apply much softer pressure on the tongue, making John an extremely comfortable bit. The mouthpiece naturally adapts to the shape of the tongue and relieves the bars of constant pressure.
This bit can also be tested during abit fittingand/or bridle fitting; delivery time for a new bit is approximately 5 working days. It is also available as atest bit.
A Beval bit has a similar effect to a 2½ & 3 Ring snaffle, but has a softer effect and less leverage. Provides a flexible, soft feel in the hand. This bit can be used with the reins in multiple positions, depending on the desired effect from the bit. It can also be used with a gag rein thanks to its special design with curved loop rings on the inside. The gag rein can slide smoothly into the loop rings.
