Fager John snaffle
Fager John Loose Ring Sweet Iron;
The hinges are specially designed to create a much softer pressure on the tongue, making John an extremely comfortable bit. The mouthpiece naturally adapts to the shape of the tongue, while relieving the bars of constant pressure.
- Needs to seek more contact with the bit.
- May overreact when you take up the reins.
- Resistant to maintaining consistent contact.
- Needs to calm down in the mouth.
- Sensitive tongue and bars; may chew on the bit and toss its head.
- Available in sizes: 105 mm / 115 mm / 125 mm / 135 mm / 145 mm
The Fager John loose ring bit can also be tested during a bit fitting and/or bridle fitting; delivery time for a new bit is approximately 5 working days. It is also available as a test bit.
Sweet Iron is a coating on top of a stainless steel bit. The purpose is to mask the metallic taste of stainless steel and create a pleasant, sweet taste, encouraging the horse to seek more contact and hold the bit. After use, sweet iron will begin to oxidize and turn brownish-grey. Sweet Iron is a good choice for horses that need to seek more contact with the bit.
Loose Ring;
Loose rings are designed to move independently of the mouthpiece. This gives the horse more freedom to use its tongue and to apply higher or lower pressure from the mouthpiece, depending on preference.
