Fager Nicole Plastic Weymouth Bit

One of my personal favorites for riding with a double bridle! Often, I see horses becoming heavy in the hand with a double bridle, but the Fager Nicole Plastic Weymouth Bit is a fantastic and full-fledged alternative to a bit made of (precious) metal!

Available in 2 different "hardnesses" regarding the plastic;

* Soft (light green) – primarily for younger and/or sensitive horses that benefit from a soft feel in the mouth.
* Hard (dark green) – for horses that benefit from clearer communication.

• Young or inexperienced horses
  Ideal for horses learning to trust a double bridle, as it promotes acceptance and reduces tension.
• Horses that avoid or reject contact
  The soft rubber encourages them to seek the bit, ensuring a more stable and confident connection.
• Horses with a dry or sensitive mouth
  The material promotes softness and salivation, improving comfort and focus.
• Rehabilitation or retraining
  Ideal for regaining trust or processing bit-related tension or behavioral issues.
• Head tossing
  This mouthpiece is slightly thinner in the middle, allowing it to rest softer on the tongue without excessive pressure on the bars or palate. The shape, combined with the soft material, makes this bit a suitable option for horses with sensitive bars and palate who may feel restless in the mouth and throw their heads up when you take up the reins. This mouthpiece is suitable for a wide range of horses.

• Available with shanks in 5 and 7 centimeters.
• Includes curb chain and hooks

The chain is an important component that distributes pressure between the mouth and chin and prevents the leverage from overshooting.

PLEASE NOTE! TPU material is more durable than most rubber bits, but it can still show marks from horses' teeth if they chew excessively on the bit. Therefore, the bit is not covered by warranty or the right to claim if the damage is caused by the horse biting on it.

This bit can also be tested during a bit fitting and/or bridle fitting, delivery time for a new bit is approximately 5 working days. It is also available as a test bit in several variations.

Material
This bit is made of high-quality TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and combines the softness of rubber with the strength and durability required for daily riding. TPU is known for its exceptional flexibility, durability, and safe properties for horses, making it ideal for horses with sensitive mouths and horses that need more stable contact.

Attachment of double bridle: In the upper part there are rings for attaching the cheek pieces and hooks for attaching the curb chain. In the lower part there are rings for attaching the curb reins. It works with pressure on the lower jaw and the poll.
