BR Bradoon Soft Contact
- Mouthpiece thickness: 10 mm
- Ring diameter: 50 mm
A bradoon, also known as a bridoon, is usually used in combination with a curb bit on a double bridle. This bit can also be used as a snaffle alone when smaller bit rings are desired. This snaffle/bradoon has an anatomical design and follows the shape of the horse's mouth, creating a soft and even pressure distribution. The BR Bradoon Soft Contact is made of solid Cuprigan with stainless steel cheeks.
A bradoon snaffle is a bit with loose bit rings. This type of bit is generally well accepted because the mouthpiece lies relatively loosely in the mouth. The small rings leave more room for the curb bit. It is advisable to choose a bradoon that is approximately 0.5 – 1 cm larger than the curb bit.
In a double jointed bit, the mouthpiece consists of three parts. The middle part of the mouthpiece lies flat on the tongue. This creates more pressure on the tongue than with a single jointed mouthpiece. The thicker the middle piece, the more pressure on the tongue.
Material composition: Cuprigan is an alloy consisting of 89% copper, 7% aluminum, 3% iron, and 1% zinc. The oxidation process of the material gives off a pleasant scent and taste.
Curb and snaffle attachment: In the upper part there are rings for attaching the cheekpieces and hooks for attaching the curb chain. In the lower part there are rings for attaching the curb reins. It works with great force on the lower jaw and neck.
