Fager Marcus Baucher Sweet Iron;

Fager's smooth joints are designed so that they never press against the sides of the palate or create uneven pressure on the corners of the mouth, thus making the pressure on the tongue milder.

The small tongue relief, combined with the smooth joints, makes this bit a good option for horses with a sensitive tongue who may open their mouth, pull on the reins, and move their tongue.

  • May overreact when you take up the reins.
  • Pulls the reins down/forward and/or plays with the tongue.
  • Develops cuts, sores, and rubs easily at the corners of the mouth.
  • Needs more contact with the bit.
  • Is unable to maintain constant contact.
  • Available in sizes: 95 mm / 105 mm / 115 mm / 125 mm / 135 mm / 145 mm

This bit can also be tested during a bit fit and/or bridle fit. Delivery time for a new bit is approximately 5 working days. It is also available as a test bit.

Please note, horses that are wide at the premolars/teeth may need to go up a size due to the upper shanks. This is because the cheekpiece of the bridle is attached to the upper shank of the bit, which is positioned higher where some horses are wider than others.

Sweet Iron is a coating on top of a stainless steel bit. Its purpose is to conceal the metallic taste of stainless steel and create a pleasant, sweet taste, encouraging the horse to seek more contact and hold the bit. After use, sweet iron will begin to oxidize and turn brownish-gray. Sweet Iron is a good choice for horses that need to seek more contact with the bit.

Baucher;

Also known as the hanging cheek bit, it is a loose ring bit with a slight leverage effect which is very pleasant for horses and ponies with sensitive corners of the mouth or wear on the premolars (P2). The ideal solution for sensitive horses that easily develop wounds and cuts, as it protects the bars and oral mucosa by suspending the bit in the mouth. This side piece is designed to keep the mouthpiece stable and provide a framed feeling. The cheekpieces are attached to the upper ring, while the reins are attached to the bit ring.

Please note: horses that are wide above the premolars/teeth may need a larger size due to the upper shanks. This is because the cheekpiece of the bridle is attached to the upper shanks of the bit, which are placed higher, where some horses are wider than others.
