Fager Mattias loose ring snaffle

Mattias is a double-jointed sweet iron bit with a special lock-up function. The mouthpiece has tongue relief but locks upwards, which can be good for horses with a low palate and sensitive bars that still prefer tongue relief. The bit does not lock forwards like a normal lock-up bit, meaning you don't get the stiff feeling of a straight bit.

The joints are angled away from the tongue, ensuring softer, smoother pressure on the tongue. This can be beneficial for horses that overreact when you pick up the reins and need to maintain consistent contact with every movement. The sweet taste combined with the stability encourages the horse to seek stable contact with the bit.

The Fager Mattias loose ring snaffle can also be tested during a bit fitting and/or bridle fitting; delivery time for a new bit is approximately 5 working days. It is also available as a test bit.
