HKM Horse Blanket Thermometer
HKM Thermometer for Horse Blankets
Do you ever wonder if your horse needs a warmer or cooler blanket, or even no blanket at all? With this HKM Thermometer for horse blankets, measuring is knowing.
You can place the thermometer in a designated pocket on some blankets. If your blanket doesn't have one, place it for a few minutes between the horse's shoulder and the blanket, or near the flanks or chest. If you use a chest protector, you can also place it in between there. This way, you can make a better judgment about which blanket is needed.
Why is it important to know this? Horses have a thermoneutral zone where the ideal ambient temperature is between -5 and 20 degrees Celsius. When we feel cold, a horse often experiences the temperature differently. It is also not good for a horse to be too warm under the blanket; in extreme cases, overheating can even occur!
